Louis Chenevert is an icon in the business industry and a role model to many who want to venture in the investment world. Louis Chenevert has worked in many organizations, but he is recognized for his legacy in the United Technologies Corporation. He has helped over 50 businesses become successful through his astute ideas and experience. He has also helped other business people around the world who read and follow his mechanisms of running an organization.
Louis Chenevert was born and raised like an ordinary child, and no one knew he would become the great person he is today. Louis Chenevert studied Production Management in HEC Montreal. His lecturers saw his potential and even began finding him jobs before he completed school.
After completing his degree in Production Management, he began working at General Motors. Here he served as the Production General Manager of General Motors’ St. Therese operation. He enjoyed several promotions in the organization and learned a lot about running a business because he stayed in the firm for 14 good years. In 1993, he decided to test new waters and fortunately he was employed at Pratt & Whitney, an engineering company.
He led to a tremendous improvement in the sales of the business, which led to his promotion to the President of the company. It is during his time at Pratt and Whitney that the board of directors of UTC saw his ability to lead and improve a company and offered him the CEO seat of the firm.
Louis Chenevert served in UTC for 14 years and then resigned to pursue his personal interests. When Louis Chenevert was exiting the firm, the firm was enjoying success due to the acquisitions and the strategies he had implemented. This is why there were many questions concerning his resigning. However, they were no disagreements or problems leading to his resignation. He felt it was time to spend time with his family without the commitments that the cooperate world has.
Louis Chenevert came a long way before making history at UTC. It was the knowledge he had acquired from the past working posts that gave him the ability to lead UTC during a financial crisis and emerge an icon.
